PEDIAGREE
Given the continuous progress of research in the fields of Auxology, paediatric Endocrinology, Gynaecology and Diabetology, it is vital to promote inter-university, inter-disciplinary and international collaboration and exchange.
PEDIAGREE (Paediatric Endocrinology and DIAbetes Grand Rounds and Educational Events) is an innovative educational project consisting of a series of conferences in English and French with speakers drawn from professors, researchers and other experts from different universities who will speak on topics relating to Auxology, paediatric Endocrinology, Diabetology and Gynaecology. At the end of each lecture/seminar, there will be a practical discussion of the topic, moderated by a trainee specialist.
The project’s events are reserved for health professionals (specialists and doctors training in paediatrics, genetics and childhood neuropsychiatry, paediatric nurses etc.). Specialist teaching in Auxology, paediatric Endocrinology, Diabetology and Gynaecology is essential for understanding the latest trends in these areas and the cycle of conferences, with contributions from Italian and international speakers, aims to favour the exchange of information and the formation of the next generation of experts.
The innovative aspect of the project lies in the division of each event into two sessions:
- in the first session an expert specialist, researcher or university professor from an Italian or International institution will speak on a topic related to Auxology, paediatric Endocrinology, Diabetology or Gynaecology;
- in the second session, ample time will be devoted to a round table discussion moderated by a trainee specialist, after which the speaker will be invited to conclude the event by identifying take home messages, and summarising key theories and clinical practices (for example using diagnostic or therapeutic flow charts).
